:: Free Fridayz ::
Ok, so for this week's Free Fridayz all you have to do is use your little digital camera to film yourself going down a set of stairs- film your feet, your face, your hand, whatever as long as you're going down a set of stairs. Be creative with it and use that overwhelming creative spark you got... Post it up on You Tube and then email us the link. We'll post these up on the site on Friday around 4pm and you guys will vote for the one that's the most interesting and creative. The winner will receive a copy of McSweeney's #20 which is a great issue full of artwork and brilliant short stories ( See a sample of it here). We'll also throw in some other stuff we have laying around the office ( Hitten Switches, Don't Give Up- Albert Reyes)... So get creative with these simple guidelines and get the link to us by Friday @4pm. news(at)fecalface.com

:: Art Openings Tonight! ::
Here are some shows worth checking out tonight: AFTERMODERN TURNS 1YRS <-- they've put on some great shows this last year and are having their anniversary featuring works from Ben Woodward, Fawn Gehweiler, Brion Nuda Rosch, Elise Irving, and others. 445 Bryant. 5:30-8pm -- POST-POSTCARD AT THE LAB <-- this is a good spot to get some gifts for the holidays without spending too much (all works under $30). Opening Thursday hundreds of affordable original works in postcard form will be for sale. Get there early to get the goods. 2948 16th. 6-9pm. -- NEW WORKS BY JOEY PIZIALI <-- not really feeling the work on his site, but the image they used for this show looked pretty good. Worth a visit to see what's up. @ Art Engine. 1035 Mission (between 6th & 7th). 6-9pm -- HOUSE AT MADRONE LOUNGE <-- group show... now this place is a club, but they have had some good art on the walls in the past and the space is nice for a drink or two. Stop through. 500 Divisadero. 6-10pm. -- BIAS IN ART CRITICISM <-- is a panel discussion with reputable working art critics about writing on art. Sounds interesting. @The SFAI. 7:30pm... As always, check the calendars: SF - NYC - LA

:: Fish in Philly ::
Speaking of Mr. Jeremy Fish, be sure to check out his show that opens this Friday in Philly @ The Lineage Gallery. It's bound to be great. As Jeremy recently wrote in an email: "this is the best show i have ever done. i am really proud. i pinched a nerve in my neck painting until 5 am two nights ago, but i am still super stoked. this is the 11th art show i have done this year. 13th if i include big group shows. 40 new pieces in just under two months. whew. i am fucking tired." Congrats, Jeremy and congrats on the Juxtapoz cover and interview... Tiffany Bozic's got a feature in there too. A great issue.

Also in the "people-in-New-York-we-really-like" category is photographer Tod Seelie. We check up on his work almost daily and I lucky enough to be able to run one of Tod's photos in the last issue of Catch a Bad One. His work can also be seen on his websites: Every Day I Live, Of Quiet and on his blog Suckapants. Actually we probably shouldn't have even mentioned suckapants because now you know that our podcasts are 80% music from his site. Seriously, he has a rad podcast you can download from Hype Machine and it's where we get all our music from (kind of).

:: Stuff to DO ::
There are few shows you should check out tomorrow night, Friday. Down at the newly opened Park Life (220 Clement) is their first show featuring works from Kelly Lynn Jones, Scott De Bie, Kyle Mocka, Kelly Tunstall, Porous Walker, & OGI. All runs from 7-10pm. Details... and then down the street at 3131 Clement is another good show of photographs from Tobin Yelland and Dennis McGrath with music from Tommy Guerrero... and while you're at it, you should zip over to Yerba Buena as they're opening a show that sounds super interesting: Mexican Street Graphics (actual advertising/ not graffiti) with A Mix-Tape of Music-Based Videos which will explore the intersection between art and the music video with a focus on Mexico City artists. All should be great. Details.
