My girlfriend got food poisoning last night after eating some chicken from Indian Oven on Fillmore. Not saying for sure it was their food, but recommending that if you're going there tonight, I'd NOT eat the chicken... Puking all night long. Harsh.

We're making some changes to our Photo of the Day section on the site. Instead of having a group of photographers submitting photos, we've asked some of our favorites to submit a full week's worth of goodness... Our first week hosts photos from LA based photographer couple Jeremy and Claire Weiss of Day19.com. We're excited to have them for our first week's photographer(s).

:: Horse Races Tonight ::
Tonight is one of four Friday Nights Alive that they have from time to time @ Bay Meadows horse race track in San Mateo (10 miles south of SF). It's the only time they have night racing with cheap beers/ food, crappy bands, and horse races. The best part is that you can take Cal Train (can drink on the train) right from SF to the track, and you can bet as little as $1... It's good times. The downside? Once we saw a horse die of a heart attack right during the race. It sucked.

:: Tonight ::
Ok, there are a lot of shows opening tonight, but there are two we're excited about... Our ol' buddy, Mat O'Brien is showing tonight in the back room with photos from Brian Gaberman in the front of Adobe Books on 16th st. Music from North Korea which is a side project from Adam who's the drummer for The Mall. Click here for more info... and speaking of Adobe Books, Eleanor Harwood who used to curate Adobe has opened her own gallery named, by a curious coincidence, The Eleanor Harwood gallery. Tonight they're opening a show of new work by Paul Wackers. Be sure to check to keep this gallery on your radar because she put together some great shows there @Adobe. A major one would have been our ol' roommate, Simon Evans who has gone on to bigger and better things.... Oh and The Mall are kicking off their tour tonight with a farewell show @The Knockout

:: Friday ::
FECAL FACE DOT COM PRESENTS THE FIRST EVER OUTER MISSION ART WALK/ DRINK LINK THIS FRIDAY EVENING!!! <-- Ever heard of a drink link where people meet up at one place to drink and socialize where after an hour or so the party moves onto the second location? After an hour or so at the next location, it's on to the third, forth, fifth, and so on. It's a party on wheels you could say... Well, we took that principal and added art. We're going to meet at one gallery, have some beer, check out some great art, listen to some good music, and then after an hour or so, we're going to all move onto the next gallery where we'll repeat the drinking, socializing and art looking. A MOVING ART EXPERIENCE and good times! Participating galleries are: Triple Base, Receiver, Southern Exposure, and Queen's Nails Annex.

Went and saw our friend Meric Long play last night @ The Rite Spot. The guy is one the most talented musicians in SF right now (in our humble opinion). He just released a new album entitled "Dodo Bird" which you should buy ( click here), and we also think that you should see him play live as he's going on tour today w/ Logan Kroeber. They'll be in LA on Wednesday playing @ Little Pedro's... Listen to some of his music on his MySpace page and see him.

Hot damn darn, there's a grip of great art to check out Thursday- visually and musically... Mike Giant & Vitche @Fifty24SF is bound to be a great one worth checking out. | Five Painters @111 Minna featuring new works from Eric Bailey, Kim Cogan, Joel Dugan, Rogelio Martinez, and Dennis Mcnulty who are all some talented fellers. | CCA's gallery, Playspace, opens Don't Quit Your Day Job which features work from 6 artists addressing "the job" of art making and is bound to be interesting. | And then one of our favorite places in SF, Creativity Explored (gallery of artwork by artists with developmental disabilities), opens a new show of rock inspired artwork entitled The Beat Goes On | Lastly, be sure to say farewell to The Mall as they play one last show here in SF @ The Bottom of the Hill before heading out on their first US tour. Should be a good one. Do you have their new album yet? So fucking good!
