Say hi to this nocturnal Sydney based street artist. He's got a show coming up at Monster Children that you need to see.
Kill Pixie is a prominent street artist from Sydney. Besides trawling the dark streets at night with a can in his hand, this young chap also also works indoors on these great canvas works as seen below and has shown them throughout galleries in his native Australia. He's also got a show coming up at Monster Children on the 19th of July, and a collaboration show with Edward Woodley on the 21st of September at the Don't Come gallery in Melbourne. So if you're down under around that time, we highly reccomend you go and see this great work in person and now welcome him to the Fecal.

Age & Location? 23 - Sydney, Australia
What materials did you use to create this work?
I use ink, acrylics, water colours with resin, usually on wooden panels
and boxes.
You have a show coming up. When and where is that?
It's called KILL COMMUNICATION at the Monster Children Gallery on the 19th of July, and a collaboration show with Edward Woodley on the 21st of September at the Don't Come gallery in Melbourne, VIC.
When I'm not creating work, I can be found (insert here).
Trawling the streets and drinking scooners.
The last time you almost died?
I was out painting a few months ago and fell off a train bridge. Lucky I landed on a ledge cause the drop was pretty big if I'd fallen off that.
How far was the drop you took? Did you break anything? What were you painting on the bridge?
It was a couple of stories high... I was with a friend. We were bombing along this train line and on the way back we had to scale
down this bridge. It was a LUCKY I DIDN'T FUCK MYSELF UP SORT OF DEAL.
I've never been to Australia, what's the deal with you guys being so
nice and is Sydney like LA and Melbourne like San Francisco really? Everyone
says that.
Ha ha... I'm not sure. I guess Australians generally are pretty chilled characters. That's why we get along with everyone. Sydney as a whole is spread out a lot like LA. You need a car to get around. Melbourne's a lot more underground, and the city has kept its older characteristics. There's a big mix of different scenes there... Melbourne is a place where you want to cruise round on a push bike and look at everything... There's a lot of things happening on the streets down there.
Tell me about your last "walk about".
I don't really walk. I skate.
Tell us about the art scene there in Sydney.
It's the same as everywhere but a bit smaller. I find the people who
are genuine about what's new out there are really helping the
Australian art scene. A lot of guys are starting to enjoying the
support from galleries... There are a lot of people making a lot of good stuff in Oz. There are also a lot of good international artists making there way over here and doing shows in Sydney and Melbourne.
Below are some collaborations Pixie did with Edward Woodley.
Who are some artists and galleries you like over there in Sydney.
Some galleries I like are China Heights Gallery, Monster Children
Gallery and Tim Olsen Gallery. Some artists I like are Ed Woodley,
Anthony Lister, Vaughan Dead. But that's the tip of a very large
iceberg.
Monster Children is a magazine/gallery which is in Sydney, They do shows all year round. The gallery is Run by a guy named
Joseph Allen who has an amazingly large moustache.
If I were to come out for a day to visit you in Sydney, where would you take me?
Probably take you to a pub and drink scooners.
Why Kill Pixie?
Cause the little bastard steals things
What do you do to pay the bills?
I do my art, I worked in this bar once about 4 years ago but got held up Armed robbery so I bailed.
If you're near Sydney be sure to check these shows: KILL COMMUNICATION at the Monster Children Gallery on the 19th of July, and a collaboration show with Edward Woodley on the 21st of September at the Don't Come gallery in Melbourne, VIC.
