Man the whole art gig is so saturated with individuals who want to be artists. It must be overwhelming for all of you at times. It seems hard to believe that too many people are able to survive financially just doing shows. I would be curious how many of the young artists are able to survive and make decent livings being artists, or are most doing the side job thing? respect to all of you who are trying to chase your dreams!!! On a side note, is there a young artist out there that seems to be emerging as a huge star in the same way that Barry McGee did, or is it impossible to do that at this point in the game without a huge paradigm shift.

wasn't too impresed either- it all looked very informed by other artists work . . nothing too original. Collen Sanders work was great though!

good point. with everything so accessible, and so many ways for young artists to have thier work seen it appears that pretty much anyone can be famous within a limited circle.
