Slingshot Gallery Opening
After dinner on our way to the Latin American Club we happened to stumble across the opening of the Slingshot Gallery. This space used to be that awesome and corky modern furniture store, I guess they went out of business, and now it's Slingshot. It's an amazing space, huge.
So after a little Goggle research, I found out that Slingshot Gallery is a new pop-up art space run by artist Freya Prowe. For now they have the space through January, and will have their next rotating show in December. This first round of artist include Megan Donegan, Angela Simione, Launa Bacon, Kimberlee Koym, and Prowe herself.
This extremely nice guy was serving wine, on tap.
Brian and Julian enjoying their wine!
Work from Freya Prowe. Her ink drawings/splatters remind me of works from illustrator Gerald Scarfe who was most known for his work with Pink Floyd and The New Yorker. Very explosive, moody, and somewhat psychedelic.
Brian Schumacher from ATA Gallery and girlfriend Kelly.
More work from Freya Prowe, I believe.
Big crowd.
Hanging work from Kimberlee Koym-Murteira.
Work from Launa Bacon.
More work and lots of rooms upstairs.
Upstairs.

I spy a Julian.

Still not sure who did these red paintings, but I really love them!
Great opening, so much to see. Can't wait for the next one!
