Free Fridayz: Switch-Blades
Written by Ashley Taylor
Friday, 29 August 2008

This Week's Theme: Switch Blades

Last Week's Winner: Last week's winner was Jeroen Blok for his My Favorite Thing(s) themed piece.

*Remember that the words "Fecal Face" need to placed in the work but not Photoshopped in or anything. This ensures that the work submitted is in fact yours.

Next Week's Theme: Iraq

Next Week's Prize: Not sure yet, but it's going to be something that you'd like to have for free.

This Week's Prize: These two books. One from Jeremy Fish and the other featuring work from Alex Gross

Submission Guidelines for next week:

We had some great entries this week that we couldn't run, either because they weren't sized right or had nothing to do with theme. Just to be clear, when the next theme comes out the old theme is offically over. Please don't send in more submissions for old themes. It makes up feel bad when you send us stuff and we can't post it up so please read the guidlines below:

  • The size formatting is 600 pixels in width OR length - if they are bigger than this they will not be posted. So if you have a long skinny one, please make sure it is not over 600 in length or we will not be able to see it well.
  • Name your submission your first and last name. Example: john_doe.jpg
  • Include the words "Fecal Face" somewhere in the art so we know you created it (please do not to add it in later with Photoshop).
  • One submission per person by Friday at 12pm PST.
  • If you have a website (or two) please specify which one you would like me to link in the body of your email. Also, let us know where you're from!
  • Send it all to freefridayz (at) fecalface.com.

Funny That this topic would produce the best week ever. These are so good.
I Like #38 for media diversity;
# 37 for being fucked up and cut up;
#34 for being sexy and raw;
#32 cause the world needs a switch spoon;
#28 cause Joroen block can do no wrong;
#26 for remembering the late michael peters;
#23 I'm totally afraid of this guy
#18 for ragtime sickness
#8 Johnny's got a Knife!
#4 What the hell is that?
But my final vote goes to # 17. It really captured the theme. And it makes the viewer seem like an unwilling witness.
