Mike Giant Works Online
Thursday, 13 February 2014 /// Written by Trippe

Works from Mike Giant's solo show "Modern Hieroglyphics" are now online and available for purchase through FFDG. The show runs through March 8th. Details: ffdg.net

I started to look at modern tattoo designs as well as corporate and band logos as "modern hieroglyphics". I thought a lot about how the symbols of our time would be objectively translated by future generations. And instead of trying to explain it, I made drawings to codify the symbolic language of our time for future observers to translate for themselves. -Mike Giant

All works from the show can be viewed online here: ffdg.net

A Little Time in LA
Tuesday, 04 February 2014 /// Written by Trippe

Had to drop off and pick up some art in Los Angeles last week and had the privilege to dine with these great people in Echo Park... Is everyone moving to LA these days? Seems that way.

Congrats to Mel Kadel on her current Juxtapoz cover, Jay Howell for his Sanjay and Craig cartoon on Nickelodeon, Travis Millard for being awesome and Jessica Trippe on the forthcoming little Trippe.

Speaking of Jay Howell, his next solo show opens in August at FFDG. Stoked.
