CCA graduate Jessie Rose Vala who moves back and forth from Portland & Brooklyn opened up Future Teller Nov 3rd at San Francisco's Ever Gold Gallery. We didn't make the opening, but Ever Gold emailed over some photos of the works and opening. Thanks for digital posting, guys.
Vala is known for her site specific installations that emphasize her diverse skill with multiple media backgrounds. Future Teller is an elaborate three dimensional mythology that serves as the artist's personal investigation into Man's fall from ‘Paradise', as depicted in a utopian existence.

Mark McCloud @Ever Gold Friday, 26 November 2010 /// Written by Trippe
Ever Gold Gallery here in SF is about to open a new show this December 2nd w/ Mark Mulroney which we'll be telling you about next week. In the meantime, we think it's about time we add the photos from their previous show with LSD blotter acid artist and collector Mark McCloud. Here are some photos of the opening which went down a few weeks back.
Photos: Kid Yellow
"Mark McCloud was the head of an LSD conspiracy that gained a new generation to the cause of LSD," assistant U.S. attorney Mike Oliver said. "It is a cause that creates in people the capacity to make life-threatening and life-stealing decisions."
The artist continues to document the LSD hit or dose of blotter in minute detail as he comments on the state of the arts and politics in relation to psychedelics.

Thursday's Shows in SF Wednesday, 03 November 2010 /// Written by Trippe
TOSHIO SAEKI SOLO @111 MINNA
In a wacky mixture of classical Japanese woodblock style and contemporary Hello Kitty kitsch, Japanese illustrator Toshio Saeki challenges just about every taboo you can think of, and a few you probably never even considered. Some might call Saeki's potpourri of extreme sexuality warped, but this skilled and inventive artist has the kind of following in Japan that comic-book genius R. Crumb inspired in this country during the seventies.
-- show details - @111 Minna - 5pm to late - 21+ - 111 Minna @2nd
MARK MCClOUD @EVER GOLD
Mark McCloud has a huge collection of blotter art... Yes, sheets of acid will be on display at Ever Gold adjorned with Jesus on a cross, Beavis and Butthead, Felix the cat, and many others. This Argentinian-born 44 year old ex-professor of art, is an old SF fixture of sorts having done drugs with notorious SF drug addled rock stars and thinkers.
Could the FBI be close on his heals? Actually, says McCloud, there is little if any legal risk in possessing these papers. Exposure to sunlight and heat has destroyed the illegal drug in every one of the blotters that he displays, reducing the LSD to an inert and legal compound. -read on.

The Story of Sue Nami
Tuesday, 31 January 2012, 9:36am
In the days following the Fukushima nuclear disaster, I was asked to make a poster for the Devo show at the Warfield Theatre in San Francisco. The image was a Japanese girl, wearing a nuclear t shirt, with the kanji character for earth tattooed on her shoulder. She was dead. I called her Sue Nami, and much to my surprise, the band liked it. ~keep reading Zolton's story of Sue.

| Hola from Tequisquiapan Mexico
Hey there, I just got back from a short residency down in a small town two hours north of Mexico City called Tequisquiapan. I was asked to come down there to meet some of the crew of the Clipperton Project, which basically is going to be a crazy boat trip in March with scientists and artists going out to a very remote atoll in the Pacific called Clipperton Island. Anyways, I thought you might like to see some photos of the town and the graffiti that I was surprised to find there.

| Real Etheral by Evan Mann
Real Ethereal embraces our mysterious relationship with life. It blends the physical with the metaphysical on a journey through an ever-transitioning space where common interactions become extraordinary and perception ventures into the otherworldly. Real Ethereal examines possibilities of unseen realities and metaphorically represents the winding path that reveals before us and conceals behind us; the future remains a mystery while the past fades quickly into the recesses of our mind. We are left with the present: the mysterious reality of our existence; the hair of time difficult to grasp.
