My brother Ray and I were invited to Miami to participate in what happened to be a huge photo show-turned rave. It was during the Winter Music Conference where the whole city of Miami goes off. The WMC showcases different genres of electronic music, holds music seminars, and throws enough industry parties to provide numerous late night bonker seshs. This particular bonkers sesh featured the creative energies of O.H.W.O.W. Gallery, Mad Decent, Turntable Lab, IHEARTCOMIX, Trouble&bass, and Vice Versa.
The Hamburger Eyes show included photos by: Ray Potes, Stefan Simikich, Ted Pushinsky, Brian David Stevens, Michael Jang, Patrick Griffin, Mark Murrman, Ryan Furtado, Vic Blue, Uri Korn, Alessandro Zuek Simonetti, Oscar Mendoza, Alexander Martinez, and me (Dave Potes).
Our photo show was up only for the night, so if you weren't there you missed out.
The photos I shot start from the afternoon the day before the event. Ray's flight kept getting delayed until it finally was cancelled. This always happens to him. He eventually got into Miami late at night, when he joined us hanging the show.
O.H.W.O.W. Gallery, (Our House West of Wynwood), opened its gallery doors only just this past October and have been making some noise in the art world. The entire space was designed by Rafael de Cardenas, which proves to be quite impressive.
this bookshelf is gnarly. These guys don't only have a gallery, they also own a print shop and publish art books.
On the left is creative director Al Moran. His brother Mills on the right manages the gallery.

Alvaro Ilizarbe of Freegums fame dropped by to say hello.
His girlfriend, Jen Stark, does some really amazing artwork.

we finally make it back to the gallery around 10pm. There is all ready a swarm of people inside and outside the gallery.

There were buttloads of people there. Eventually everyone started heading to the back of the warehouse where the dj's were playing music.
