My blog theme usually sticks to the artsy fartsy events I show up to, but I thought I'd mix things up and share some other stuff from my weekend. I ended up having 3 days off in a row, and tried to fit in as much adventure as possible. This included,
1.)seeing the almost new movie, The Devil and Daniel Johnston
2.)checking out the Tacoma Art Museum's exhibit, The Great American Thing: Modern Art and National Identity, 1915-1935
3.)sending my roomie, KAP, off for his solo bike journey from here (Seattle), down to the southern coast of California (PARTY!)
4.)vegetarian BarBQing like hella, and
5.)taking a long drive and ferry up to the Olympic Game Farm.

The Olympic Game Farm is located in Sequim, WA, and is sort of like a giant petting zoo. Really though, you don't do as much petting as you do driving and feeding. When you get there you pay a $9 per person fee, and then have the option of buying a loaf of bread for $2 extra. Once that's all set, they give you a map of the coarse, and pretty much let you loose. On the map is a road that loops all over the park, visiting different points of interest, like where they keep the Brown Bears, the Ostrich, or a place called "Prairedog Town."

All the animals are pretty tame, and just sort of lounge around like big lazy dogs.

All the animals know what you're there for, and that's to feed them delicious, cheap bread.

There were supposed to be 3 zebra at the park, but we never saw them at their station. When we got to the end of the coarse we asked and were informed that the last one died last year... For some reason they never changed their advertising to let the public know, but it was still worth it anyway. They had quite a few other animals there to make up for it, like this ostrich.

who put on a fashion show for us.

And here's Praire Dog Town, which was mostly being taken over by the seagulls.

The very first thing I saw when we got there, were these two peacocks getting it on.

The rhino kinda seemed sad and bored...

Then we went and saw the yaks. There were like 20 of them, all walking up to cars, begging for bread like a dog at the dinner table.

We first started off by tossing bread onto the ground.

But then I let 'em really have it.

It was easier than fishing.

There was also a large section full of different deer and elk. Now that I look back at the pictures, they look almost fake.

Then we finally got to the buffalo. You're not supposed to come to a complete stop when you visit these guys, just incase they flip out and knock your car over or somthing, but we trusted them anyways.

Their foreheads looked like a big pile of pubies.

They don't exactly tell you how much to feed them, so since I was in town, I decided we were gonna have a feast.

They've got a pretty nice area to roam around, with their little pond and all.

They also take really rad dumps.

So yeah, that was my trip to the Olympic Game Park. There was also a section where they kept different wolves, and tigers, and dangerous stuff like that, but they were all caged up and I didn't feel like taking pictures of that. Really, these pictures came out a lot nicer then I thought they would, and I feel obligated to say that the place did have kind of trashy feeling to it at times. They might as well do somthing different with the caged animals, cuz it's more sad than amusing to see them all locked up like they were... Anyway, their website says that a lot of the animals were adopted as orphans, or are retired animal actors, so hopfully the animals are living decent lives. All in all, it was a good time, and it wouldn't be a bad place to go check out if I were you.

I'm gonna end this now, but first I wanna let you know that I'm getting ready to go out to a show downtown at First Thursday called, "100 Balls," based on 50 different men's testicles.
