Nothing much but SPBs & sailing shit.
I'm happy to say that after months of moving about, I'm finally settled in a beautiful apartment in the Mission with my two favorite people: Jessica & Poo (are cats people?)... Freaking annoying moving offices, studios, apartments... that stuff makes you feel disconnected and, from what most of you I'm sure could tell, it hurts the work life too. Glad to be set and am able to get some shit done finally...
Let's start with some SPB convention.

After years of trying to make it to a convention, one falls flat in my city, and I hardly make it out, but that was mainly due to being submerged in boxes... But I did make it to the Ladies arm wrestling comp that went down April 7th @ minna.

I only see Perkins after a flood of drinks. Maybe he gets in through the taps.

Champion

but Freddy was the real winner!

The horse races are too good, and there aren't many more Friday Nights alive as they're going to tear the place down this fall.

Went and saw Dodo Bird a week or so ago. Also great.

Our mast was down for weeks, and after many attempts and broken items, we had to get professional help... or I should say that we needed a really tall person or a crane. Since we don't know any 30 foot tall people we went with a crane.

Jay of receiver came to help us get the thing up.

This was our final attempt at trying to raise it by ourselves. That thing is fucking tall and a few people standing on an unstable boat don't really work if you're interested in the thing not crashing down on the boat in the next slip.

But for weeks we'd leave the boat like this while, just that morning, we thought we'd be out sailing for the day. Instead, we struggle with broken goosenecks and mastheads not to mention the re-rigging... It's a quick learning experience.

But then last Friday we had an appointment at Nelson's rigging to get the thing up for real- crane style. Russell shot some photos of us on our way out at 7am.

backing out and trying not to ram our neighbors boats.

and we're off... hopefully back with the mast up.

That crane is our savior. CIA boat behind.

The boat before us had his mast stepped. Here they had his wind speed indicator to the top.

While we wait for our turn, we check out some of the America's Cup US team's practice boats in the boat yard. Here's the big one.

Grabbed a cup of coffee.

and then up with our mast.

and then the new backstay... which was the reason for the mast coming down to begin with.

thanks for all the help, Russell!

and it's back up and has yet to fall down. San Francisco Bay

Sharks out there in the bay.

not sharks like the one whose teeth are around Jessica's head... Russell caught that beast when it got stuck in his fishing net years ago. Big dude... He cut the mouth out and buried it in the sand where mites cleaned it up for him.

aaaaaaa, sailing again. It's nice.

In random, I love the hardware store on Mission past 24th where the two old guys hunch around and are nice as hell. The place is expensive, but it just feels so good in there with the classical music and rusty old tools. I bought two 15mm wrenches for the bike since I keep getting flats these days.

Saw these funny dudes at lake merritt where we rented little sailboats when our mast was down... Super fun day.

The rent these little 14 foot boats for $15/hour.

But, of course, our halyard broke and had to be towed in like retards... whatever, we got another boat and continued on.
