Just got back from my trip to Barcelona. My trip actually started in San Francisco. I got sick the first night there. I think I caught the flu that was going around. It fucked me up. I did get around to see the usual suspects though. Sylvia Ji's show at White Walls was hot. Best show I've seen in a while. Big props. Hope everybody went to see it.
The main reason I was in SF was to attend a friend's wedding. The wedding took place in the Sonoma hills. It was gorgeous. The alpacas were in attendance.
The morning after the wedding, I caught an early flight to Barcelona from SFO. I was flown out there to attend the opening of the Bestial group show at Iguapop Gallery.

The gallery put me up at the Chic & Basic hotel. It was right up the street from the gallery. Very nice. Thanks.

The view from my balcony. Dope.

Upon arrival, I was still feeling really sick, so I got some sleep. I woke up to meet the artists in the show for dinner. Before dinner, I was able to meet up with my buddy All. He's a tattooer in Barcelona that I met when he did a guest spot at Everlasting a few years ago. He turned out to be the best guide I could have asked for.
He lived on the 5th floor. Lots of climbing. Something I forget about living in Albuquerque.

His street is cutty.

A Barcelona-style joint really helped kick the jetlag.

Cheese enchiladas sure hit the spot too.

I loved the architecture in Barcelona. It has a great mix of old and new.

Love this facade by Picasso.

Casa Mila by Gaudi. Amazing.

The Sagrada Familia by Gaudi. Still under construction and looking good.

Last Wednesday, All took me painting with some friends of his. On the way to the spot, I spotted this guy making a boat. Sweet.

Making progress on our wall.

Finished.

My old friend Egs from Finland happened by and painted right next to me. We were friends when I lived in London in '98. I love his style.

Fresh.

Seb from Paris also happened by. I had never met him before, but I'm a big fan of his work from the 90s.

Thursday was opening day for the show. This Vespa was usually parked outside the gallery.

My rep in Paris, Magda, stopped by to get a preview of the show.

This is Inigo. He runs Iguapop. He rules. Thanks, Inigo.

I got these photos of the show a few hours before the opening.

Paintings by Mademoiselle Kat near the front window, with work by Poppy Jabianski on the right.

Kid Acne hooked up this sweet installation.

Love these ones from Miss Van.

My stuff.

Aiko made these.

Fawn Gehweiler.

My pal Jeremy Fish. Sorry you couldn't make it, homie.

Freshness from Junko Mizuno.

Kev Grey's illustrations.

Installation by Landry & Limbo.

Nano's installation.

This is Nano working away a few days before the opening.

Pieces by Miss Van on the left and some fresh paintings by Angelique Houtkamp on the right.

Lots of people came to see the work.

Some little dogs too.

Now I'm back home in Albuquerque...

eating ice cream...

and brownies...

and riding bikes with Mega. It's good to be home.
