Ben Tour, Bacon, Hotdogs & Heartburn. Manuel brings us a "Ben Tour" Tour of Manhattan and more. Last month (without ever taking myself or this art stuff too seriously) was a crazy one for various reasons, but hey lets just stick to the facts because even those are a strange shade of grey. But one thing that is true is Ben Tour was in town for his Bang Up solo at Joshua Liner! Being a big fan of Ben for years now as having a long standing inside joke with Liner about chopping up drywall in an attempt to acquire an original I decided to see if Ben might just be down to rock out a little commission in the new place. Turns out he was and while we were at it we took a little field trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to haver a look at the Francis Bacon Exhibit. Was a good weekender!

Ben Tour at Liner.

And the reds were real nice too.

All Ben's work was really impressive.

After an early night in, woke up early to an amazing summers day. Headed out to swoop up Ben and get over to the Francis Bacon exhibit.

And so did the Met.

Off we go, into the world of Bacon.

And into the world of this old couple who was totally rad.

He insisted on reading every story behind every piece and was quite clear on letting Martha know that "that is just how he is." She seemed ok with it!

Ben was really into these more abstract works.

I liked the dark pieces.

There was a good eclectic mix of Bacon's work over the years.

An online poach picture of what this guys work space was like... Wish I had more studio-ish photos.

After it was all said and done we took Ben on the high-speed ride down the FDR.

And did the Houston Street Drive by where these dewds were getting down.

And then back to The Bello household so Ben could get his paint on.

A little loose projection to get the ball rolling.

Bring on the blue...

Pop, pop, pop.... blam! Ben Tour getting gangsta wit it.

That would be a wrap.

Lets celebrate.

...with a Guinness or many.

And back to the big city, and it was about that blurry.
