*Lots of photos. May take a second or two or 270 to load.
Before we get to nature, let's focus on some science.
After some boozing, Jesse was like, "let's get some Diet Coke and some Mentos. You can make this sweet Coke fountain explosion. I saw it on the internet".
Just drop some Mentos into the Coke, and the Coke shoots out the opening all crazy and stuff.
Tim and Jessica wait in anticipation as we fumble about spilling Coke all over ourselves.
After running back and forth to the store to get more Coke and Mentos, we never were able to do it proper. The corner store guy must have been confused since we keep coming back to buy Mentos and 2 liters of Diet Coke.
Couple days later with less alcohol on our brains, we tried it once more and got a little sticky spillage... ok, but we knew we could do better.
We watched tons of people do it up online and get some serious fountain action going... We figured out our own way to get it to work. The problem was how to get the cap on with a little hole in it so that the stream has to rush through a smaller opening thus making it shoot higher and last longer... The string is pulled and broken- the mentos then drop in. All the Coke then rushes out the smaller hole. Genius.
Aaaaaa, that was much better!... We did it. We're not just drunks!
This is how really talented nerds do it... drunk nerds- not as well.
Then got out of the city to see some of that nature that I've been hearing so much about.
CA has some nature
check out this cool lil' guy.
When you get out of the city more and more deer heads start poking out of the walls.
This is not a deer. It's about twice the size of a deer. Huge fuckers and they make some weird sounds too.
and they aren't scared of you because they could easily kill you.
It's really nice having a beer on some rocks on a day like this one.
California is so darn perdy.
Another day and another time, Joey and Franklin got a year older. Happy birthday, dudes.
This would classify as bromantic.
Went and saw the Oakland A's kill Boston. 9-0. So nice to see those frat dudes with their Red Socks hats get all sad... Drinking pre game is the best.
We sat in the outfield where people hold signs and try and get on tv.
After the game we took Bart home. I enjoyed watching as everyone got monkey.
I like this photo.
Don't they have cameras on the cars? Maybe the dude liked watching us retard ourselves or was asleep at the wheel.
It's about time to get some new shoes... Check the crud in there!
Hightower is back in town after a summer of touring. They had a welcome back show at Thee Parkside and got all rockin' and stuff like they always do. Great show.
Strubing double fisted.
Gideon Kramer- Way to get up, dude! That's a $200 fine comin' your way!
Nate and Fox @IPath
Field
Our Fecal Face closing show @Minna. Shots all round.
Arlo and Fish
Aesop and Fish with some Bozic.
Dave and Groshong
Thanks for DJing, Jay.
Then we took it back to the house for some bonfire business.
Headed on over to Yosemite and saw this crazy ass bar... It's a bar and gun shop! That's right, you can booze down and then pick out a nice rifle to gun down your bitch wife or cheatin' husband... I love this country!
But prefer sweet rooms with old safes and books.
whatever. Deer in the backyard. No bear, but tons of deer.
We checked out the Moaning Cavern... This photo does not do the situation justice. We're going straight down into a pit into the earth... Tight ass through rocks. My nerves start going as I try not and freak out. Tight space. Ugh.
down and down... anxiety. Don't do well in tight spaces.
The spiral stair case was designed and built by the guy who designed the Golden Gate bridge. Sweet!
Those are rocks!
Moaning Cavern is the largest single cave, tall and spacious enough inside to hold the Statue of Liberty.
We went on your average tour. They give the "adventure tour" which sounds horrible. We were about halfway down (200 feet). It keeps going through tight as rocks to 400+ feet. Most of the spaces you need to climb through are just wide enough to get your shoulders through... Fuck that! 3 hours of heart attack!
This cave is over 3 Million years old and was formed by a geyser. The geyser moved on and for 300,000 years people keep falling into the hole at the surface. When they made their way down the pit, they found a pile of bones that were 14 feet deep! Bones and jewelry from cave people... fucking 300,000 years old. Crazy shit! "Moaning Cavern is also an archaeological site, where some of the oldest human remains known in America were discovered. The cave has long been the resting spot for the bodies of prehistoric people who fell into its opening."
So much of this rock looks like water.
We're in gold rush country, and this sweet spot is called Natural Bridges... We really wished that we had a rubber raft to make it through the cave.
Got back in time for Softball Sunday! Next Sunday let's meet there at 5pm sharp! Not a whole lot of light left this summer... and for those of you who don't go because you may think its cold out there... it's not. The fields are sheltered from the wind. Perfect temperature for the game... MVP of the winning team gets the trophy!
DJ got MVP even though I was last at bat and got a 3 run homerun... I'm not bitter... Guess he made an insane catch when I went for beer... wait, I went to get beer! I should have gotten MVP for just that reason alone. Fuck that shit.
Doesn't it look like that bike was placed in the photo with photoshop?
and then we rode out to the beach for a little Sunday night bonfire that lasted till 1am and involved getting sand in every hole imaginable... and we also all did some nude freezing water swimming.
shooting beers
wieners in the sand.
You know you're friends with someone when swimming nude they puke down your back and you're stoked. Thanks, Rick.
poor Jamia got the worst of it.
Wow. that was a lot of photos. Thanks for watching... Going on an IPath trip to the great NorthWest for 10 days next week. Updates from the road!... Fucking can't wait to skate everyday. Been too long.
I end it here to remind you that you should dance more often... Dad is NOT stoked on that one, Corky.
And then Borat on Conan... The movie is going to be good. You know this.
