"People always think something's all true."
"I have a feeling that you're riding for some kind of a terrible, terrible fall. But I don't honestly know what kind.... It may be the kind where, at the age of thirty, you sit in some bar hating everybody who comes in looking as if he might have played football in college. Then again, you may pick up just enough education to hate people who say, 'It's a secret between he and I.' Or you may end up in some business office, throwing paper clips at the nearest stenographer. I just don't know."
"This fall I think you're riding for - it's a special kind of fall, a horrible kind. The man falling isn't permitted to feel or hear himself hit bottom. He just keeps falling and falling. The whole arrangement's designed for men who, at some time or other in their lives, were looking for something their own environment couldn't supply them with. Or they thought their own environment couldn't supply them with. So they gave up looking. They gave it up before they ever really even got started."
Almost every time somebody gives me a present, it ends up making me sad.
Can you name this great book?
Warning: if you don't like to see pictures of people drinking beer, you may not want to scroll down. After I post photos of the art shows I've been to, there's not a whole lot left unless you wanna see photos of my laptop or something... Just a heads up.
I know who's been here.
Nothing like bars on the weekend.
this warm weather has meant some good bbqs and roof parties though. nice.
christmas in june
I've never ever given a shit about soccer until one night my roommate and I were watching a match on the Mexican station. I always thought it was pretty boring to watch and then we got roped in. It's the world cup. So exciting! Crazy to think of when a team gets a goal their entire country is exploding in cheers. It's an insane thought. Here USA ties Italy... or you could say Italy ties Italy since they scored on themselves.
My new Italian friend I see at all the matches.
Chad's rooting for a good team.
Summer has hit SF.
and randoms in the park coming up asking for their butt smacked. Got to love this city.

Went and saw Kool Keith at Mezzanine. It was crowded!
Ok, so I know I was out of it that night, but I'm certain that wasn't Kool Keith, although, in this photo I will say it looks like him and it did sound like him, but it just didn't seem like him and I know he's known for pulling some shit at his live shows... Others near me agreed it wasn't him and I even spoke to his PR dude who agreed with me... It was weird. Anyone go to that show and feel the same way?
Softball Sunday was a smash as Joey got two homeruns. Mike Short with one. Score: 18 to 3.
Lots of Brazilian pride Sunday.
Joey and Caren (SP?)
Balance two quarters on opposite edges of a pint glass and try to grab them off only using our thumb and indy finger. Shit's hard.
At the end of Haight is a pretty sweet legal wall with some nice stuff on it.
and an amazing bar that's been in existence since the '40s. Apparently the owner used to kick people out who ordered wrong... It's got a great vibe and beautiful moon shaped bar.
wrapped up softball with Mike Short and Joey.
That's the bar back then.
England v. Sweden... Since the US is out I'm rooting for yet another team with slim chances... England.
English fans get super exited after goals. Good times.
Here's one I'm proud of... Got no new photos? Make some new ones out of old ones. x-girlfriend and a heron from Black Water. I shot that when I was twelve with my dad's camera. Sweeeeet.
I like when cars sprout
I couldn't sleep last night thinking of the US match against Ghana. I kept dreaming that I overslept and woke up at 1, 3, 5, and then finally 7... The US blew it. They had so many chances and just didn't come through. Ghana played really well and we didn't deserve to win... Would like to see Australia win this afternoon... Getting up at 7 isn't so hard. New schedule coming through.
Not football related, but pretty sweet amazing.
